Founded in 2006, Sanatan Unnayan Sangstha focuses on uplifting marginalized and rural communities through education, livelihood development, health, and social empowerment programs. Our people-centered approach ensures sustainability, participation, and long-term community leadership. The organization values truth, honesty, and humility, emphasizing equality, transparency, and dignity for all. Supported by partners like NABARD, Paul Hamlyn Foundation, and Azim Premji Foundation, we have reached over 20,000 lives through our various initiatives. We continue to create lasting impact across Cachar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi districts of Assam.

To reduce unemployment among youth from economically weaker families, the organization provided financial support, guidance, and mentorship to help start micro-enterprises in agriculture and livestock. This initiative created stable income sources in Chencoorie Tea Garden and neighboring villages.
Sanatan Unnayan Sangstha revived traditional Barak Valley folk arts like Dhamail, Ai-Gaan, and Charak Dance, engaging youth and community members during cultural festivals across Berabak, Elgin Grant, and Kukubari villages. The initiative strengthened cultural identity and intergenerational bonding.
The MITA Initiative organizes a free mental health camp monthly at the SUS Head Office in Berabak. These camps provide low-income families with free check-ups, medication, and counseling. So far, over 700 patients have received ongoing support, resulting in significant improvements in their mental health and stability.
